1.000 Unpaid Volvo cars in North Korea. They were 144 Volvo sedans. They were supplied from 1974. And they were never paid. But most of them still drive in North Korea.

That testifies to the quality of the cars.

The adventure started when it seemed that the North Korean market would be 'open' for Western products. Atlas Copco and Volvo were the first in line to make a move in that unexplored buyers' area.

So the Swedes were also among the first companies to notice that…. The North Koreans simply paid no one.

With interest on interest, North Korea now owes the Swedes about 300 million euros. North Korea does not seem to mind. Just as with a few other things such as nutrition and the rural population and tinkering with nuclear weapons.

And yet there are people who go on vacation to that strange country.

We advise you to be extra vigilant when photographing an image or statue of Kim II Sung or his son Kim Jung II.

The statue of the back or part of it is unacceptable in the eyes of the North Koreans.

And the prisons of Nord Korea are not at the same level as ours in terms of comfort..

Via the Volvo Forum we received the link to the whole story.
Thank you for that

  1. Stand still! This tip for the coming winter!
Do your oltimer / youngtimer a favor if you stop it for a while, and refuel it for three quarters with firezone 102! (See the website: Firezone, where you can refuel the fuel in your area). This gasoline contains no ethanol / alcohol. and does not affect the rubber seals in the motor and pipes! This prevents a lot of trouble if you wake up the vehicle after the "hibernation."
