The official birth of Citroën was in 1919. Next year the quirky brand with the double 'chevron' will be a century young.
This is celebrated with a great many activities in various countries, but of course also in the brand's mother country: in France. And there they have modestly described the matter as 'The Treeping of the Century'.
The three-day event is organized by the "Amicale Citroën & DS France ”in collaboration with“ L'Aventure Peugeot,
Citroën DS ”, and it is actively supported by“ AutomobilesCitroën". The meeting is held in an environment that precedes Citroën historical grounds: in La Ferté-Vidame, in Eure-et-Loir. That is a rustic village where Citroën once, in 1938, built its test track.
All Citrofiles are more than welcome on 19, 20 and 21 July. And because the party is clearly set up as a family outing, the costs have been kept pleasantly low. Think of something from 100 euros for a car - one Citroën of course - with two occupants for all three days.
The organization has established contacts with more than 50 clubs, 100.000 French fans and a data file of such an 70.000 Citroën lovers. And people who have visited the ICCCR in Ellecom, they have some idea of what to expect: a sort of ICCCR XXL.
Active participants are expected between the 12000-15000. Plus of course the normal public. It is expected that around 35% of visitors will come from France. There are more than 450 volunteers to accompany the festivities. There is also a landing place for a trauma helicopter for people who are overwhelmed by emotion.
In the area there is also a lot to do for tourists, there is even an amusement park nearby. There is space for 2500 vehicles at the campsite with the possibility to make even more space. The total parking space is sufficient for such an 7000 vehicle. And because it is France, the catering is also completely good. On site, but also in the area.
The site contains all the information you want, and not just in French. Take a look at “Le Rassemblement duSiècle”
