Purchasing classics there

You stumble across the Porsches and some visitors are already talking about 911-Classica. But there are so many cars on Techno Classica that you can even look your eyes out if you skip all Porsches.

We will return to Techno Classica extensively soon, but for the first hunger we now show you a selection of 25 cars that certainly appealed to us. Which Opel, Jaguar, BMW en Skoda there were large present, you could already read recently. And we are there too, so come and say hello (and check out the scholarship offer). But for those staying at home and for those who still have doubts about going, we made a tour of the exhibition floor - also with a few Dutch specialists.

Of course you cannot escape a handful of Porsches at Techno Classica. Wheel manufacturer Fuchs had brought a special 911, while Porsche itself considered the 40th anniversary of the 928. Porsche specialist Eric Wolbert enthusiastically showed a Porsche that he had already sold: a tractor. And then there are cars developed by Porsche, such as the Beetle-like model that Porsche designed in 1933 for NSU.
With just as much pleasure, however, we watched a fierce-looking rally Skoda, a Volkswagen Polo G40 and an electric Golf. It is never difficult for Bugatti to get attention, but because we came for the classics, we ignored the new Bugatti and we mainly looked at the EB110. An eye-catcher of the first order, which nevertheless pale slightly because neighbor Lamborghini had a Miura.

We can talk about the beautiful for a long time Alfa Romeo that stood at Veni Vidi Vici, or about a charming Fiat that, because of its suitability for the Mille Miglia, may come with a slightly less charming price tag, but we liked it much better to 'unusual suspects' to watch. For example, AutoLeitner from Alkmaar, known for top class Germans, had an Opel Manta prominently at the front of the stand. A DAF club that was standing in a corridor a little afterwards showed off a Volvo 343 Variomatic.

At BMW, we naturally looked at BMWs, including an 767iL, a prototype of the E32 generation that is equipped with a V16 engine. There were more 7s, because BMW celebrates the 30th anniversary of the V12. But just as much fun: a prototype of the M1. Concerner MINI showed a concept car from 1997, a first attempt to design a new Mini, based on the MGF at the time. The last coachbuilt car of the brand was shown at Rolls-Royce; after this one, no rolling chassis left the factory. But perhaps the most beautiful BMW could be seen later on the show: a bright red 3.0 CSL that was taken to Essen by Classic Park from Boxtel.
