The 2016 edition of the Techno Classica in Essen is slowly looming again on the horizon. The large international car festival is graced by more than 1.250 participants from more than 30 countries. The festival, which will be held from 6 to 10 April, is considered a mecca for fans of a large selection of classic cars, motorcycles, automobilia, clubs, parts and much more. A wide range of themes will be central in the Ruhr area.

The organization proudly announces that the manifestation with numerous German Manufacturers and manufacturers from other countries can be regarded as the largest international classic event. For the 28th edition of Techno Classica, those responsible have once again put together special attractions. It is striking that a number of manufacturers have chosen the Techno Classica to put some newcomers in the spotlight, giving a nod to history. Alfa Romeo seizes the event to keep the attention for the new Giulia. Fiat launches the 124 Spider and will not let the 50th anniversary of the original pass unnoticed. Mercedes-Benz is present with numerous historic convertibles and the new S-Class Convertible. Volvo enlivens “Essen” with the launch of the new V90 and will emphasize the roots of that car by bringing a number of classic stations. The Volvo 145 is one of them. And so there are more connections between classic and “Nigel Nagel Neu”.

In cooperation with the most important BMW clubs and the subsidiary brands Mini and Rolls Royce, the Bavaria will occupy a large part of Hall 12. Jaguar Landrover will make its appearance in Hall 2. France is also well represented. Peugeot leans this year on the 504 convertible and coupé club while the history Citroën does well at every trade show. That will also be the case in Essen. The former group subsidiary Panhard was founded 125 years ago and is celebrated in Germany. Also some will be historic Citroëns- from 2CV to DS acte give the presence in Essen. And so there is more to experience during this event. There will be 220 classic clubs. Coys Auctions will once again hold a controversial auction on 9 April. The organization has also mentioned youngtimers and classics from the age of 20-30 years old as the center of gravity. The highlight of the Techno Classica, however, has its origins in the Mille Miglia of 1955. The SIHA exhibits 10 participating cars of the 1955 edition of that beautiful Italian race. The Mercedes 300 SLR - with which Juan Manual Fangio achieved second place - will be within reach of the public. The Porsche 550 Spyder, the Maserati A6 GCS and the Ferrari 750 Monza are also part of the exhibition.
