The second edition of Wheels in the West will be held on Saturday 29 and Sunday 30 September. Place of action: the Plantarium building on the border of Boskoop and Hazerswoude-Dorp. After the successful first edition last year, those responsible decided to expand Wheels in the West into a total event around oldtimer and vintage cars. In any case, the credentials of the organizers promise a great event.
Business purposes will be given ample scope at Wheels in the West. The organization strives to generate a platform with a commercial approach. Of course, those responsible also have a different objective. They want to create the conditions to please the visitor in terms of classic cars and automobilia. And another important aspect is interwoven with Wheels in the West. The classic event is used to generate benefits for the esophagus and stomach cancer fund (SLMK fund).
Themes
At around 11.000 m2 within surface area in a unique glass building, atmosphere, experience and class are created that fit with classics and their time. The visitor encounters spaces within different themes. As stated, commerce and commerce are an important approach. A theme is also set in which emergency services are central. There is ample room for clubs. Visitors can also gather information and get knowledge from professional advisors. And anyone looking for that specific specific part or accessory can go to the parts market. The event not only takes place within the walls of the Plantarium building. In the run-up to the event, the organization offers room for an auction. Guests and exhibitors are welcome with their customers on Friday evenings. The auction is held between the classics. All proceeds go to charity (SLMK fund). Visitors with their own classic can take the opportunity to show their car in the specially selected parking area. Rally tour
A rally tour is held on Sunday 30 September under the auspices of MAC Rijnland Alphen a / d Rijn. The organizers have mapped out the route in the Groene Hart. The length of the trail is 70 km and the participants take a ride of approximately 3 hours. Facts and tourist tips are provided in the puzzle tour. Esophagus & Gastric Cancer Fund
A particularly sympathetic aspect of Wheels in the West is that the organization spends the net proceeds of the event entirely on a good cause. That is the Esophagus & Stomach Cancer Fund. This organization supports the AMC Foundation of the Amsterdam Medical Center. This is the largest center for esophageal and stomach surgery in the Netherlands. The AMC's top specialists share their knowledge and experience with researchers internationally. They initiate research and enable young, promising doctors to be involved. In total, some 150 patients are operated on a year, partly thanks to this fund.
