After a break of four years, the Leeuwarder WTC Expo is organizing the exhibition "Hobby en Leisure." The 31st edition of Hobby & Leisure will take place from 20 to 22 November 2015. In 2011 the last Hobby & Leisure fair attracted around 14.000 visitors. The interest in everything in the field of leisure has grown to such an extent that the organization again saw sufficient reason to put this particularly varied event on the agenda.
The Leeuwarder leisure fair houses exhibitors who demonstrate the most diverse hobbies. From cooking to pimping furniture, from knitting to growing vegetables, from embroidery to painting, from processing leather to making jewelry: the visitor will be able to satisfy himself of a wide variety.
Traditionally, the admirers of model making also come into their own. Aircraft, model railways, radio-controlled trucks, phenomenally beautiful and well-detailed model shipbuilding (a small preview already showed us the atmosphere with regard to this theme), beautiful LEGO creations: it is only a small selection of what the visitor will find in the WTC Expo.
Wonderful fair for miniature old-timer enthusiasts
Naturally, fans of vintage cars and other cars are also served in miniature during this exhibition. The NAMAC Regio Noord is present in Leeuwarden. The NAMAC - the largest miniature car club in the Netherlands - has members with a large variety of rare scale models, meticulously built scale replicas. Furthermore, the presence of "DAF in miniature" promises to be a tribute to scale to our national automobile history. The list of participants also presents several exhibitors with a weakness for DAF passenger cars and scaled trucks.
Carpenter's eye
We know from experience that a visit to this hobby fair is particularly worthwhile. Those looking for a carpenter's eye for detail - and a preference for rare specimens in terms of modeling and miniatures - would do well to take a day off to visit the Frisian capital. All activities will take place in a true atmosphere of hobby experience.
The WTC Expo is the third largest event center in the Netherlands. Recently, for example, the successful debut edition of CLASSICSNL was held, the new classic exhibition in the Netherlands.
