One of the theme exhibitions is dedicated to a special car: the Citroën DS, which was presented to the world in Paris sixty years ago.
Exhibition manager Pieter Fokkema is particularly delighted with the theme exhibition, which focuses on the 60th anniversary of the DS. “We wanted a special topic to enhance our debut fair. Soon we agreed that the Citroën DS is the ideal car to give the special character of CLASSICSNL extra cachet. And the 60 anniversary of the DS was a wonderful starting point for fulfilling that ambition. ”
Turntable nice nod to DS introduction sixty years ago
The WTC Expo in Leeuwarden pays special attention to the history of the legendary Goddess, which was produced for twenty years. Fokkema says: “I think we succeed well in translating the feeling and experience around the DS to the visitors. We have obtained a copy of the first, second and third generation (the three noses). And the DS of the first generation made available to us will be presented in the same way as during the introduction of 1955 in Paris. The central pavilion - where the DS themed exhibition is being held - will be furnished with a turntable. We are very pleased about that. ”
Six copies, lots of information
The theme square consists of six DSs. In addition to the specimens mentioned, a Break, a convertible and an ambulance will also be exhibited. The beautiful DS collection will be exhibited amid info columns, which inform the visitor about the history of the DS. “We work well with Citroën The Netherlands, which makes a lot of material available, "says Pieter Fokkema.
