Betuwe Fruit Ride

The Betuwe always smells a little better in early May. Blossoms, coffee, and warm motor oil. On Sunday, May 3, 2026, the heart of Tiel will once again fill with classics, vintage cars, and quirky cars during the seventh edition of the Betuwe Fruit Ride. No long-distance adventure, no rush, just a relaxed spring celebration with gleaming bodywork and time for conversation. The day begins at ten o'clock with Cars & Coffee in the city center. After that, the fun begins for those who want to drive. There's a short route of about forty kilometers, and for those who want to enjoy it longer, a seventy-kilometer ride through the Betuwe. Participation is open to cars thirty years and older. A handful of younger cars are also welcome, provided they're unusual enough to raise the organizers' eyebrows. Registration costs twenty-five euros per vehicle. The public is welcome all day and doesn't have to pay a fee. Cars will be lined up in the city center and on the Waalkade in the morning and after the ride. There will be music, stalls, children can drive around in miniature cars, and those who want can even have a say in the decision-making process with the audience award. The awards ceremony will be at 4:00 PM. Shops and restaurants will be open, and parking is free.
