Passion is a deep sense of enthusiasm, something you do with your heart. In Reinder and Lanny, that enthusiasm radiates and is contagious. Perhaps it's an unstoppable inner force that continues to generate energy.

Passionate hobby

We're talking about Italy. Of course, about the rich culture, the delicious cuisine, the historic cities, and the stunning scenery. But especially about that little Italian friend: the Fiat 124 Spider, which is firmly rooted in the hearts of Italian car lovers. Reinder is an enthusiast in the broadest sense of the word. From classic sports cars to Ferrari's fast Formula 1 racers. And when it comes to Ferrari, it's also about Alfa Romeo, Maserati and Fiat, there is admiration for the design and appreciation for the technology.

Youth sentiment

Reinder: “Even as a little boy, I was glued to the TV watching Formula 1 races. Especially Ferrari, of course, and that feeling for the prancing horse has always remained. The glamour of racing! Gradually, my enthusiasm for everything related to Italian cars grew. Later, that took shape in vacations to Italy and visits to Ferrari museums and Alfa Romeo. It could set me on fire, and that's still what drives me.”

Source of satisfaction

Reinder: “I'd been looking for an Italian sports car for a while. The designs of Pininfarina, in particular, really appealed to me. This respected Italian designer worked with Fiat, among others, and demonstrated impressive performance with various models. At a classic car show, we saw a beautiful 124 Spider and then began our search online. We finally found this beautiful example in Düsseldorf, which we picked up together. After purchasing it, it turned out no cosmetic work was necessary—the photos prove it—but some technical work did need to be done. I did install the matching rims, the Cromodora CD66. In this case, 15-inch instead of the original 13-inch, a nod to this sports car's past. Without history, there's no future.”

Jewel of a sports car

Reinder: "This red car is an anniversary edition, recognizable by a badge on the side and on the dashboard that reads: 1930-1980, 50 years of Pininfarina. I love the sporty handling, the sound of acceleration, the upshifts and downshifts, and the thrill of speed. Of course, all this in a responsible way in everyday driving. But during vacations in the Italian mountains, the lure of the accelerator really comes into its own. It remains an intense driving experience."

Lanny's positive contribution

Lanny: "We're proud of our possession. We want to share the positive feeling a classic car provides. We're mindful of the connections we make along the way, because this Fiat is a real head-turner. At every stop, it creates great photo opportunities and conversations. The bright red paint makes this gem shine! A classic car is so much more than just a means of transportation. It—or rather, it—is cherished with love to keep it in perfect condition."

  1. Reinder and Lanny's feelings are beautifully captured and even come across digitally! But... this is certainly thanks to Lysa's beautiful photos! Her pictures are worth over a thousand words! I didn't want this to be overlooked. 🙂

Greetings and see you soon Reinder!

  2. I know the car personally and so do Reinder and Lanny.
One of the most beautiful spiders of this model that I know.
From 2 nice people who are really enthusiasts.
It is used and cherished as it should be in my opinion.
    Greetings Jan Hessels

  3. Beautiful then, still beautiful. A stunning model and utterly timeless. Headlights a la Floride, stunning.
By the way, I'm still amazed that these kinds of nice items are indeed delivered to my home for FREE,
    every day, mind you.
    Thanks all, Greetings from YVR.

    • I completely agree with this, also from this side thanks for the beautiful daily articles.
For me, buying the magazine occasionally at a newsagent's is also a result of this page.
