Construction box maker Italieri has a huge range of - often less well-known - construction box scale models. Aviation and the army are well represented.

But our attention (at specialist store Wentink in Arnhem) was drawn by the 'self-propelling cart' from the Leonardo da Vinci's marvelous machines series. The purist can first start with brushes and varnish. The assembly is simply done with a click system. And Leonardo's machine works!

But whether there was also a spring-loaded winding motor in the original?
