The current credit crisis also apparently requires many owners of classic restoration objects to cash in on it. In Britain, near Bridgnorth, Shropshire, a certain Ben Smith had just taken his Mercedes-Benz 170VA out of the stables and sold it.

A special Benz? The papers indicated in any case that this car was imported into Germany from 1958 and that year was therefore registered as a year of construction on the registration certificate. Not correct, because the chassis number indicated that the car dates from 1947. Left steering wheel and to be restored. A missed opportunity? He sold it for just over £ 2.000,00…
