Purchasing classics there

Seven years after the opening in 2009, the Porsche museum in Stuttgart welcomed the three millionth visitor. They were Justine and David Boscaglia from Melbourne (Australia). Achim Stejskal, Head of the Porsche Museum, surprised the pair with a voucher for an unforgettable experience: a full weekend of driving a Porsche in a Porsche of your choice.

The Porsche Museum therefore not only attracts fans from Germany; lovers from all over the world visit the museum, which accounts for half of the total number of visitors. In the opening year 2009, half a million sports car enthusiasts visited the museum. In June 2011 the one millionth visitor was a fact, followed two and a half years later by the two millionth. 455.730 Porsche fans came to the museum last year, an increase of 8 percent compared to 2014.

New exhibition
The attraction of the museum is further increased this month with the opening on April 27 of the new exhibition 'The Transaxle Age. From the 924 to the 928 '. Central to this exhibition are the Porsche models from the years' 70, '80 and' 90 with the power source in the front.

More interaction
Also new in the museum is the interactive 'Porsche Touchwall', where visitors are taken playfully through the history of the brand. The 12 meter-long touchwall is equipped with an intelligent visitor-tracking system that takes interested people in a virtual way through nine decades of automotive history. More than 3.000 photos, drawings, posters and advertisements, visitors present an image of the 1931 period up to and including the present.

"In to Mix"
Another permanent novelty of the museum is the interactive 'Porsche in the Mix', unique in its kind worldwide. Here, visitors first choose their favorite from seven Porsche models, with the installation then playing the distinctive sounds of the models - ranging from the 356 to the 911 and 918. The visitor can then add sounds via a touchscreen, including the flashing lights, the closing of doors and the engine sound, in order to create a musical mix of their own.
