Today Porsche has given the go-ahead for a unique exhibition. From 17 September to 11 January 2015 is exhibiting the 'Project: Top Secret' in the Porsche Museum in Stuttgart. In addition, doors will open that have remained closed until now: 16 unique Porsche models from the past five decades including secret concept cars, camouflaged prototypes and other experimental vehicles can be admired for the first time.

At Porsche, 4.500 people (!) Are engaged in development and research. Yet many good ideas do not reach the production stage. This does not alter the fact that the profile sketches are often realized in concept cars or prototypes. The development of this takes place in the greatest secrecy to this day, so as not to let competition compete with the thought out concepts. And that is why many Porsche experimental cars never leave the factory gates of the development center in Weissach. In fact, they are often stripped after the end of a project. The most important cars avoid that fate, however, and precisely those Porsches are now brought together in a special one exhibition.

Experiments from five decades
According to Porsche, experimental cars perfectly reflect the spirit of the times. The sustainable FLA prototype, for example, was intended as a response to the energy crisis of 1973. The Porsche 924 record car and the experimental Type 995 with room for several passengers also date from this period. The 80s are drawn by the very sleek 959 prototype, the 928 Cabriolet and the never-before-seen Roadster Type 984. The prototype of the Porsche 965 super sports car with a water-cooled V8 in the rear also reveals its secrets. The 90 'family sports car' dates from the 989s. His design set the tone for future Porsche generations. For the car fan with high-tech in its genes, there is also good news: the shape of the unique Type 986 A4 subframe serves the enthusiast's needs. What is special is that a converted 911 Targa (Type 964) was used in the development of the Boxster Porsche. It goes without saying that it also gives acte de presènce. A recent example from the collection is a camouflaged Panamera prototype. This car gives visitors a special insight into the extensive test program for new models. And there is more connection with contemporary models: the rolling chassis of a 918 Spyder brings the unique hybrid technology of Porsche to life. The impressive and charged collection in the Porsche Museum in Stuttgart is in any case a great opportunity for the car enthusiast with a penchant for the development history of the South German brand.

The Porsche Museum in Stuttgart is open from Tuesday to Sunday (on all days from 9.00 to 18.00 hours). Extensive information can be found on the website from the Porsche Museum.
