We received a letter from AMK reader Bert Nieuwenhuis. Just read along. Maybe you can help him further:
Dear editor,
My grandfather, with us in Friesland 'Pake', was a big car enthusiast. He was among the first with a car in his village Hemrik 1 and almost always drove American cars.
Pake was a car manufacturer and had, among other things, a petrol pump from Pam and later Chevron at home.
Now around his 60th birthday he bought a new Ford Capri and unfortunately sold it in 1987 because it had to be welded in order to continue driving safely. He did not want to have the car refurbished and did not know what would be done about it in the future. The choice then fell on a new Lada Samara with license plate RS-45-GT. He sold the Capri privately and did not tell us to whom. The Lada used my wife for a while and later this car was sold.
Now the Capri has stood in the Friesland hall in Leeuwarden in the early years of 90 at an old-timer exhibition. My parents were there by chance and saw the Capri.
My parents picked up Pake and Beppe the next day and drove to it. On the photo you can also see talking to the new owner.
Now I saw on the site of RDW that the car is still in the file and am very curious and what the state of the Capri is and would like to see this car again in real life .. There has been no MOT on this car according to the RDW site. That is why I would also like to make a call to trace the current owner
Fortunately, a few pictures of the Capri were taken at the fair and I have now scanned them and send them with me. So it's about license plate 28-75-UR

Bert, I think you can submit a written request to the RDW to have the current owner contact you.
