Purchasing classics there

Knowledge Ed van Nieuwenhuizen, once bought one. And it didn't quite work out. He knew immediately that he would never live without it again. Without motor lift table. But that should be the perfect motor bridge. And in the meantime he has found it,

There are motorcycle enthusiasts who have a motorcycle lift table alone as a lifestyle monument in their mancave. They score with that. But a motorcycle lift bridge is so much more than a monument. A motorcycle lift table is an indispensable tool after first acquaintance. The operation of something so beautiful can then be mechanical, hydraulic and/or electrical. It just depends on what you want and how much you have to spend.

And the best thing is that you immediately buy the best copy possible

Because it also applies to motor lifts that everything is value for money. You don't want to entrust your motorcycle (and your safety) to a self-baked copy of 50 euros! The first plus when buying such a tool, because that is a motorcycle lift table, is that you buy something with it that can remain in the family for generations. From that perspective, the price is always reasonable. If you go fully electric and with remote control, you are in the absolute A segment. But if you get away with a table with a foot pump, you're not really worse off. Smart people also score a rejected hospital bed. Such a thing has a lifting capacity of three hundred kilos or so. With a piece of aluminum checker plate as a deck you can go a long way. Only you usually miss the handy folding option to change wheels. And if you look around you on Tinternet, you will see that those handy things are even for sale used.

End of show or continue?

Many of us have tinkered in the past. Just on the ground. With our average age, we don't have to be ashamed of wanting to work more comfortably. All the more so because our backs are no longer suitable for ground acrobatics while tinkering. We dare to say that working on a motorcycle that is stable and at an ergonomically fine working height can easily extend our motorcycle life by ten years.

How technical does it have to be?

A lift bridge is indispensable to work well on an engine. Dismantling a wheel is a torture without a lift bridge. And the dealer charges his workshop time for it. Just like for many things that you can do the preparatory work for at home, such as removing sheet metal before the motorcycle goes to the dealer. Such a dealer can simply count two+ hours of working time to remove plastic parts. And at a serious dealer a workshop hour costs just € 100 ex. VAT.

How to properly clean a motorcycle?

That goes perfectly on the lift bridge. But between cleaning and a stable situation during a total dismantling, a motorcycle lift table gives you plenty of room to work better. Think of replacing brake pads and air filters. And for the inexperienced, almost every action is videoed and explained on Youtube. A lifting table can easily be expanded with various accessories, such as scissor lifts, wheel clamps and dollies. A solution for every situation.

Multiple use

After purchasing a motorcycle lift table, you can change your social life. Motorcycling friends M/F can visit more often. But you can of course also use such a lifting table to work on motor mowers, outboard engines, bicycles and the like. With a few glue clamps you can even make a wooden bookcase on it. And with a clean cloth over it you have the ideal party table.

  1. You really don't have to be an old man for a motorcycle lift table.
For my 30th birthday my girl took me to HBM.
A candy store for boys / men / people with a hobby.
Tip: do not take the entire piggy bank with you.
I was allowed to choose a motorcycle lift table, for my hobby with old-timer mopeds.
    2nd (middle) model selected.
Just a little bigger, and fits well in the shed.
    Super fine thing.
    If only I had had that thing when I was 15 . . . . .

  2. My back doesn't work anymore either, but apparently that's due to age. (also at work) Bought a lifting table at HBM and already had a hoist, so the two together give a safe feeling during maintenance and restoration of the engines. In the meantime, the grandchildren have also started tinkering with motorcycles and gratefully come to work on the lifting table. I'll take care of the cleanup.

  3. With the announcement that the hydraulic pump was no longer working properly, but in the knowledge that the lifting table had served for more than 15 years in the nearby HD workshop and then ended up in a corner in the garage of an enthusiastic hobbyist, I thought this was must be a "good".
However, with my Softail on it, it collapsed almost as hard as I pumped, so some regrets surfaced. Fortunately, I found a company nearby, which dealt with these kinds of problems, among other things, and after dismantling the cylinder, the case was overhauled for a mere €50. Unfortunately. No success. So apparently not a good revision. Then back to the question whether it could also be made well. With a blush on his cheeks, the mechanic in question announced that he would do it right. And it happened! And I didn't have to pay anything extra. The result: a beautiful, professional and well-functioning hydraulic lift bridge that I have been enjoying for years now. Plus several others who know I have one of these!

  4. At the time, I managed to score a lifting beam and a cable winch for the same purpose. I made a dedicated lifting beam for Blauwtje the R45/65. In no time at all, the motorcycle is at working height. If I hadn't had all that, I could really wipe my back after all the key years. The lift bridge is of course easier. Although that hoist has certainly turned out to be a true blessing when overhauling the trestle support!

  5. After years of tinkering with a self-made lift, I came across a wheelchair lift at work, take it for free, hydraulic with remote control, really great, never want to be without it.

  6. Years of torture with changing blocks on the knees, until you can't get your back straight even with Viagra..
I was as happy as a child when a van from HBM drove up and a lifting table was unloaded..; end of torture, end of backache, end of bumbling and cursing on the knees..
