A new tradition in the making: the Auto Motor Klassiek Old-timer day
Autumn has its own charm for classic car enthusiasts. The roads are quieter, the light softer and the temperature pleasant – perfect to enjoy your beloved classic car again before winter storage calls. We are seizing that moment for something new. On Saturday 4 October, we are organising a special classic car day for readers, drivers and classic car enthusiasts, in collaboration with Oliehandel.nl. The location? Wegrestaurant De Kar, beautifully situated on the Zutphenseweg in Klarenbeek, central and easily accessible for those coming from the east, middle or north of the country.
The idea of this day is as simple as it is sympathetic: meet each other, admire each other's vehicles, exchange experiences and simply enjoy driving and the love for the old tin. No strict schedule, no loudspeakers with instructions, no competition with ribbons - but a relaxed atmosphere in which the classic hobby is central. Whether you arrive in a beautifully patinated Simca, a gleamingly polished MG or a Daf that is original down to the last detail, you are most welcome. Motorcyclists with classics on two or three wheels are also expressly invited.
From nine o'clock in the morning everyone is welcome on the spacious grounds of De Kar. There is plenty of opportunity to meet each other, look under the bonnet or tank and have good conversations about technical solutions, restorations, oil choice or just about that one unforgettable summer ride. There is coffee, snacks and anyone who wants can join in for lunch in the restaurant. Oliehandel.nl, co-organiser of this day, will also be present with knowledge and advice about the right lubricants for classic motorcycles - always a subject that many people like to shed light on.
Admission is free, participation is also free. And those who register in advance will also be treated to coffee or tea with something tasty on arrival – just as a warm welcome from us. If you feel like it, just come. Whether you just come to have a look or stay the whole day – everyone is welcome. More information will follow, via our channels and via Oliehandel.nl.
This first edition of the Auto Motor Klassiek Oldtimerdag is hopefully the start of a beautiful tradition. Not an event in the formal sense of the word, but a relaxed gathering of people with a shared love of technology, design and history. In the spirit of the magazine that has connected them for years.

Oh, I think I'll come with my Opel. A C Kadett. I'm really curious what else will come here. I'll keep an eye on it in any case.
It seems that more and more Oldtimer events are being added in the Gelderland region. Including in Apeldoorn, Veenendaal, Voorst and Voorthuizen. And this new event in the Kar near Klarenbeek is a nice addition.

Seems like a nice low-threshold event. I think I'll come and have a look with my Lancia Flaminia. I'm curious to see what other cars will be there. Maybe it's a nice idea for people to report that below? Anyway, I'm looking forward to it.
