Drivers who also use a youngtimer of the business privately can look forward to an advantage in 2017. For motor vehicles that are 15 years or older, the addition for private use is reduced. Up to now, the maximum addition was 35% on the Value in Economic Traffic. This is now reduced to 32%. In addition, there is an adjustment to the addition rules for young timers. From 1 January 2017 there are only two taxable emission categories.
In 2015, the Tax Authorities used five levels for the youngtimers. The first simplification (from five to four categories) took place in 2016. For motor vehicles with a CO 2 emission of more than 106 grams per kilometer, the highest rate of 2016% had to be paid in 35. For motor vehicles without or with a lower CO2 emission, three categories with lower addition percentages applied from 1 January 2016. For young timers without CO2 emissions, the owner - who also used the car privately - had to pay 14% on the value in economic traffic.
Two categories from 2017
From 1 January 2017, the Tax and Customs Administration only applies an additional rate of 2 percent for young timers without CO14 emissions. For all cars that emit CO2 emissions, the maximum rate is now set at 32 percent. The business driving of a youngtimer remains worth considering, even if there are (deductible) higher costs for repair and maintenance. After all, it is not the catalog value that forms the basis for calculation, but the value in economic traffic. You can find more information on the site of the tax authorities.
Catalog value and VAT
The catalog value comes back in a different way in combination with young timers purchased by entrepreneurs. Various specific rules apply to cars that are included as business assets but are also used for private purposes. For example, for private use of a business vehicle, a distinction is made between margin cars and VAT cars. You can find more information about the "VAT" subject here.
