De Alfa Romeo 2600 Sprint - with bodywork designed by Bertone - has only been in production for four years. In that period, barely 7.000 copies rolled out of the factory gates. Most of them no longer exist. Eaten up by the rust or completely flattened, the rest is now with enthusiasts or with owners who have 'forgotten' such a thing. Like the one pictured here.
A real barn find (…), has been stored for at least three decades. Is still complete. At least, except for the keys to the doors and ignition lock. The in such Alfa Romeo mounted six-seater with two overhead camshafts could propel the 2600 to a top speed of 200 kilometers per hour, accelerate from a standstill to 100 kilometers per hour in almost 9 seconds and could compete with the sports cars of the time. Also in terms of sound, just beautiful at speed. The right-hand drive example shown here has just over a ton (in kilometers!) on the clock and has minimal rust damage. Nevertheless, you should have had well-filled pockets to bring it back to life and not just because of the hefty asking price of almost 25 grand in euros… Parts are also not to very difficult to find. It's been a while since we saw this car. So is he still there?
Is the alfa 2600 still available??
