A reader bought a classic. And that classic had an inexplicable rattle. A somewhat abrasive sound. Very disturbing.
To make a very long search story short: a whimsically shaped piece of gravel had landed in the right caliper on the front. Sometimes it lay neatly with its flat side against the disc. Sometimes it 'skipped' and braced itself between the disk and the claw ... And then there was that sound again. When the car stopped, the piece of stone fell down again. And the noise was gone.
People have gone crazy for less.
But luckily the story ended well.
