Chrome exhaust bends and dampers cannot really withstand very high temperatures.
And the temperature of exhaust gases can be very high; a well-adjusted four-stroke engine has an exhaust gas temperature of more than 600 degrees. If the fuel mixture becomes very poor, it is much hotter. And discolor the pipes.
There are people who like that. Find. There are people who abhor it. But a too poor mixture can cause much more serious damage than that discoloration. So first take a look at carburation and exhaust system before you deal with:
Anti blue for chrome
If that temperature persists in the exhaust system for a long time, the chrome layer will discolor; first a kind of gilded appearance appears, if the temperature rises even higher, then it may be that the otherwise silver-colored chrome gets a deep blue color. It will not disappear after the case has cooled; that used to be the sign that the engine should have been working very hard. The rider could even score toughness points with it. With modern engines, incidentally, it often occurs because of the environmentally responsible, poor mixture that was driven fast.
There is stuff with which exhaust bends regain their original shine: Restom ABC 4020. It has a suspicious light pink color and its use is simple. You shake the bottle vigorously, dose it on a cotton cloth and brush. After the first cleaning job, light is then polished.
It is simple and effective.
