Aston Martin is going to rebuild one of its most legendary models. The Aston Martin DB4 GT - previously built by the British manufacturer between 1959 and 1963 - is built in a series of 25 units. It will mainly be used for competitive purposes. The British only build the exclusive series for circuit use.

With the restart of production of the Aston Martin DB4 GT, a legendary car returns. When launched in 1959, it was immediately regarded as one of the rarest and most respected of all Aston Martins. In the same year, Aston Martin scored a historic victory in the 24 Hours of Le Mans 24. The Aston Martin DB4 GT was a true supercar in its day. Compared to the regular Aston Martin DB4, it was more compact and lighter. The British also built a more powerful version of the legendary 3,7-liter six-cylinder engine in the GT. The Aston Martin DB4 GT was Britain's fastest passenger sports car, with Sir Stirling Moss taking victory in its debut race at Silverstone. In total Aston Martin built 1959 between 1963 and 75. Aston Martin DB4 GTs were built between 1959 and 1963. Only eight units of this series were produced as “Lightweight”.

Continuation after more than 33 years

After more than 33 years, Aston Martin has therefore taken the decision to continue the history of the illustrious model with the “Aston Martin DB4 GT Continuation”. The 25 units will be hand-built in Newport Pagnell. This is where the official heritage center of Aston Martin is located, where the restoration and maintenance of Aston Martin models takes place. In accordance with the original specifications, the 3,7 liter engine with six cylinders in line, three carburettors and two spark plugs per cylinder will be installed in the front.

chassis number is consistent with last copy from sixties

The 340 PK to be generated will find their way to the rear wheels. A limited slip diff is also attached to the rear. The DB4 GT Continuation is fitted with a tubular frame and aluminum body panels. Just like the power source, these construction specifications also reflect the past. The first "new" DB4 GT will receive a chassis number that matches that of the last one produced in 1963. The last "sixties" copy received the 0202R combination as identification.
