What Audi is Klaas de Groot? That is the great strength, the intelligent technology and the exclusive comfort. And of course the quattro technology, which gives this Audi 80 quattro an edge for him.

By: Dirk de Jong

Klaas works as a claims manager. This fully restored Audi 80 quattro shows that he is an all-round professional with golden hands. Truly a showpiece. He bought the original Dutch car in 2015 from a widow, who had the car in storage as a memory of her husband for 15 years. An article in the club magazine made him aware of this special car with a story.

Special history

The owner indicated that she was told that the first owner of the Audi 80 quattro (VW-Audi importer) had been Pon, who had used it as a demonstration model. The proof for this was an extensive report in the then car champion of the ANWB.

They were the second owner, while Klaas de Groot is now the third in the row of owners. The restoration started in 2015 with disassembly and immediately afterwards the technique. The bodywork was then addressed and painted in the original mars red.

He can actually show hundreds of photos of how the 'resuscitation' process of the Audi 80 quattro has taken place over a period of no less than five years. Klaas is proud of his property. The appraiser admired the perfect execution. He translated that with a value in the higher price range. Klaas translates it himself as follows: "If you are involved in something you care about, if you feel (Audi) passion for something, life is much more interesting and interesting." And we appreciate that connection.
