This Austin A 40 Sedan has traditionally been a venerable quality brand. Perhaps that's why the classic still hasn't given up the fight for survival - after 72 years. The car was in the collection of Willem Keizer from Stadskanaal, who collects old vehicles from the Second World War and gives it a new life.

According to Willem Keizer, this Austin A 40 Sedan enjoyed the owner's sympathy for 40 years, with the intention of giving it a second life. Before that, many extra parts were already collected, such as doors, mudguards and sheet metal with the intention of making it a complete car. As he had been in a reddish brown color earlier in his 1948 year. However, the registration indicates 1958. The story goes that he previously had the provincial number certificate under the letter A in Groningen.

Until last year I had the same Austin A40 Devon, coming from Portugal and in roughly the same condition. sold to someone from Lemmer, who (I believe) has not done anything with it yet. So if Kris after the Dutch Devon also wants to start on the Portuguese one… .. Mr. Janus in Brabant has a lot of spare parts for this Austin type.

The Austin from Portugal has now been flattened in the bangers. The interior plus some other parts were saved and are now in mine.
We now have this queen among the English classics in our possession.
