BMW 633 CSi Automatic (1977)
Popke's heart, which usually beats calmly and evenly, started beating faster when he spotted his dream car on the digital highway. What would it mean to him to be back behind the wheel of such an attractive classic? He previously drove a cream-white BMW 633 CSi and is now happy to share the story behind his new acquisition.
Portrait of a collectible BMW
Popke: "The owner of this premium BMW coupe had already received numerous responses, but I was the first to call to schedule a meeting. Based on the beautiful photos and the conversation, I took the risk of buying the car outright and transferring part of the purchase price upfront. That trust was not betrayed. The large luxury coupe turned out to be a beautiful, original, and well-preserved classic, powered by a powerful 3,2-liter M30 inline six-cylinder engine."
History
Popke: "The first owner bought the car in Germany when it rolled off the production line in 1977. Unfortunately, little is known about its German history. It is clear, however, that the BMW came to the Netherlands in 2008 and wasn't registered until 2009, due to a restoration. Rust was found on the sills and underbody of this BMW flagship. This was expertly and professionally repaired, after which the car was repainted in its original Amazonite Grün color. The elongated coupe has a beautiful, original leather interior; a sight to behold."
gun factor
Giving the car to a true enthusiast and car fanatic was an added bonus for Popke. The owner was commercially involved in boat sales, not a core function of the company, and the BMW had been traded in when he purchased a boat. A fantastic opportunity in every respect.
Hobby is an enrichment
Popke is drawn to cars from the era in which he grew up. His first love was an Opel Manta A, a classic he still finds irresistible and which is also part of his collection. He could easily fill several pages in Auto Motor Klassiek with stories about his special classics and always keeps a watchful eye. His admiration for his cars is immense, and his enthusiasm is hard to capture in words. That passion is always there.

BMW Premium? And not a Manta, which is just as beautiful, less rusty, and even better built. And then, BMW "drivers" all think they're pilots, without a license, of course. And they always come for coffee through the rear bumper.
The E24 is also my favorite, and I have a blue 635CSI from 1984. The green 633 looks great, except for the rims. If it were mine, I'd look for the original.
100% agree, the rims are not "period-correct" and don't fit well, the rest seems very original and fine!
Beautiful car!
