BMW Group Classic has undergone a major relocation. From now on in Milbertshofen (Munich), visitors will find everything about the history of the 100-year-old brand. The extensive collection of cars, archives, the customer center, the workshop and the parts service are now grouped under one roof.
BMW Group Classic also returns to a historic place in the brand's history. The location on Moosacher Strasse 66 contains one of the first BMW production facilities. The complex now has a size of 13.000 square meters. Today, the building is monumental and forms the gateway to the history of BMW.
Classics from BMW daughters are also important
Of course the classic motorcycles and cars of the respectable brand from Munich are central. But BMW has not forgotten its daughters. Because the location is also intended as a meeting place for owners of classic models from Rolls Royce and MINI. Vehicles and many other items from the extensive BMW Group Classic collection are presented in the historic production hall. The complex also contains modern equipped facilities. These can be used to provide space for the organization of events and presentations. Furthermore, guided tours are offered to the participants. They receive presentations about the new location and information about the history of the company. Visitors to the on-site café Mo66 have a nice view of the transparent glass workshop.
Lots of knowledge, wide range of parts
Questions about the history of the company, brands and products are answered in the BMW Group Archive. The technical staff of the BMW Group Classic Center has also built up a long experience. They work on the preservation and restoration of historic cars and motorcycles. They also offer support in the purchase or sale of a classic vehicle. Those who want to have temporary access to a classic from the BMW Group can also go to Milbertshofen. Finally, there is an extensive parts warehouse. More than 55 items are on offer and that number is growing.
Milestone in anniversary year
BMW Group Classic has succeeded in composing an optimal experience center. It is simply a milestone in the year that the centenary of the Bavarian brand is celebrated. And a tribute to the eventful history of BMW and its brand subsidiaries.
