Purchasing classics there

From 1 to 3 February, the 17-e edition of the Bremen Classic Motor Show took place in Bremen. The opening of the German classic season, that is what the engaging fair has been called by the organization for years. When those in charge put a manifestation with such a slogan on the map, a great deal can be achieved. The Bremen Classic Motor Show lived up to those expectations for years, and again this year more than 40.000 visitors saw a special season opening in Germany.

Under the leadership of Frank Rüge, a nice offer was again put together. The sub-areas of motorcycles, cars, restoration projects, automobilia, professional and private offerings - in fact everything that has to do with classic - together formed the bridge between exclusive and ordinary. At no other classic fair does the beer, Bratwurst and Kartoffel aroma combine better with exclusivity and surprises than in Bremen. This also applies to the way in which the Sonderschaus unite with the surrounding offer. It should be clear that the Bremen Classic Motor Show did not cause any boredom this year either.

"Thirteen out of six"

This year the announcement of the special theme (Kombi-Nationen), showcasing 13 station wagons from six different countries, was the recipe for pre-joy. From Morris Mini Traveler to the Aston Martin DB5 Shooting Brake, from Wartburg 312 Camping to the Plymouth Sport Suburban, from patina Peugeot 202 TU2 from 1938 to the prototype Volvo 1800 ES (Rocket): in thirteen companies was shown exactly what has always made the Bremen Classic Motor Show strong over the years: unqualified rarity meets recognisability.

The Century of Cool, beautiful engines

The second Sonderschau was completed by 26 American engines. A century of US bikes under the title "The Century of Cool - American motorcycles from 100 years" showed the historical craft of motorcycle manufacturers from the land of limitless possibilities over the years. Strongly placed, with a focus on the historic products of Harley Davidson and Indian, and all in an environment that has been breathing a love for motorized two-wheelers for years. Talking about America: the V8 Moviestars were also cast in a small theme and that the organization could have turned out to be bigger here was clear from the great public enthusiasm for the V8 movie stars.

Attention to craft

Remarkable this year was the increased attention for restoration and key projects. Last year, for example, a 1: 1 kit was transformed from a Fiat 500 into a moving one in three days. This year the Bremen Classic Motor Show showed two variants of last year's three-day masterpiece. Under the motto Jugend Schraubt In three days, a Fiat 500 was made into a moving model by young mechanics. Elsewhere, another classic was put together in the same timeframe: an anniversary Beetle. It happened at the Volkswagen Classic booth, where the very first prototype of the Golf Cabriolet was also on display. Candidates for a Volkswagen Transporter of the third generation were able to indulge in a practical sense in the small theme that marked the 40-e birthday of the T3. Connoisseur Dirk Klöß drew the audience's attention.

Pracht Capri

Traditionally, hall 6 was again filled with TÜV approved young classics, and there were some beautiful cars among them. By far the nicest, in our opinion at least, was the Ford Capri 1.5 V4. This first generation copy was in a beautiful condition, and was already sold before the fair started well.

More than rewarded

The Bremen Classic Motor Show, for example, showed innovation within a recognizable setting, with an offer that lasted a long time. Variety, familiarity and good organization. Bremen Classic Motor Show was as usual, the German classic season was opened with verve. 41.678 visitors (a slight increase compared to 2018) witnessed it, and saw a choice to travel to the event amply rewarded.
