The eighties were a decade in which much happened in the world of motorized two-wheelers. The range of motorcycles became more diverse. They rekindled the motorcycle boom after the first wave in the fifties. The new generation of motorcycles also met the wishes of the increasingly demanding buying public. For the organizers of the Bremen Classic Motor Show, the period and the associated innovations in the world of motorcycle construction were the ideal ingredients for a unique exhibition. From 31 January to 2 February, the Bremen Classic Motor Show offers you a wonderful insight into the motorcycle world of the eighties. From 1980 to 1989, much happened in the motorcycle world. Manufacturers - and especially the Japanese, who were dominant in the motorized two-wheeler market - showed technological fireworks. Many details that seem self-evident today found their way into motorcycle construction at the time: central spring struts, liquid cooling, light-alloy frames, fuel injection, single-sided swingarms and full fairings. Also disappearing technologies, such as 16-inch front wheels, anti-dive forks and full side panels, characterized the decade. The segmentation into cc classes became increasingly visible. Entry-level models such as the Yamaha DT 80 LC or MZ ETZ 150 went hand in hand with sales successes such as the Honda CM 400 T, the Yamaha XT 600 or the Honda CBR 600 F. The BMW K 100 - the first motorcycle with a multi-cylinder in-line engine, which had two overhead camshafts and BOSCH injection. Then there are the wishlist models from the eighties. The Ducati 851, Harley-Davidson Electra Glide and Honda VFR 750 R are on display in the German Hanseatic city. Finally, we would like to mention a few more: the BMW R 80 G/S, the Suzuki GSX-R 750 and two-stroke motorcycles such as the Yamaha RD 350 LC or Suzuki RG 500 Gamma will all soon be present in Bremen. The organisation of the Bremen Classic Motorshow 2025 will revive the eventful decade with a total of 24 selected machines. Examples from PS.SPEICHER from Einbeck and from collectors from all over Germany provide a wonderful insight into the motorised two-wheeler world of the eighties. And this presentation is already a gem for enthusiasts and die-hard fans of the eighties motorcycle scene. Just like the opening of the German classic season that is every year for classic enthusiasts in the broadest sense of the word. Because 730 exhibitors, together with the organisers, will ensure a more than charming and spectacular trade fair. That is already certain.
