  1. For rat look or other matte colors, such as army green or old-fashioned gray, this will work fine. Also, a thousand times prefer to see a car that is good in somewhat cheaper paint than 1 with 4 different colors of sheet metal and visible filler spots.

    By the way, the paint quality before 1950 was still far from what it is today, so especially on pre-war classics I do not rule out that even cheap modern paint is technically better than the original paint at the time.
