Purchasing classics there

Auction house Catawiki auctioned a restored Volkswagen T1 in Samba version last week. The proceeds showed once again that candidates are willing to pay substantial amounts for Samba buses in top condition. For € 90.000, - excluding auction costs - the sublime restored T1 from 1965 changes ownership.

Twenty bids
After a number of twenty bids, the final sale price was reached. The minimum agreed yield - the reserve price - was achieved. It means that the beautiful Volkswagen T1 bus in Sambatrim will leave the showroom of Albers Sportscars in Musselkanaal.

Restored from head to toe
The Volkswagen was restored from head to toe a few years ago and provided with many original details. The bus has 21 windows and an original linen roof. His American origin can be traced, among other things, to the speedometer and odometer. The odometer reading was 31.786 miles at the time of the auction.

Beautiful finish
The Samba comes in a beautiful color combination of green and cream on White Wall tires. Furthermore, the finish in the interior - where six people can find a place - is characterized by wood, beautiful leather and chrome details. Also a nice radio, which reflects the spirit of the time in which the bus originally saw the light of day, belongs to the equipment. The beautiful classic VW is powered by an 1.493 cc engine with a capacity of 44 PK. This engine was available in the last years of construction of the VW T1.

High yield no surprise
It is no surprise that the VW Samba T1 in such a state changes ownership for the amount offered. In addition, this is a copy from one of the last years of construction. Incidentally, early specimens - with 23 windows - in competition state also indicate these or higher amounts.
