Purchasing classics there

A few years ago, Roy Bolks organized the first ever Classic Cars Pop Up Store. That was on the A12 in a vacant business premises. The classic range there came from the Netherlands and Germany. The suppliers were mainly Dutch traders, but private individuals could also have their classics put down on consignment.

The self-invented phenomenon was a success

But it required enormous effort and logistics. Roy Bolks, however, is a genetic entrepreneur and he had learned a lot from the first Classic Cars Pop Up Store event. And he thought it could be better. And so he plunged into the adventure again. Because in 2019 there are still business premises empty.

That is why there is now the 2e edition in the Drutense Metropole building

The ground floor is empty there. For years. (While on the first floor a magisterial private collection of classics is dreaming *). This vacancy has therefore been halted this month. The second Classic Cars Pop Up Store is accessible free of charge. And the entrance is getting used to for the property, but the smooth concrete floor shines satisfied.

More than 300 classics

The 300 + classics (plus some motorcycles, mopeds and things such as toys, some furniture, display cabinets and so on) are certainly not arranged by the handle on the handle. In addition, the merciless fluorescent light is a good help to make visible defects in paint or sheet metal. During our weekday visit we heard several European languages speaking.

Roy Bolks was selling a friendly European to an extremely classic Bentley. We have seen the signature put. But the proud owner did not want to be photographed with his recent acquisition. It seems sad. But if you apparently have a lot of money, people are no longer allowed to see that you enjoy it.

The international approach of the second Classic Cars Pop Up Store is also apparent from the asking price level. That is still lower in the Netherlands than in the countries around us. Yet the asking prices seem to be in line with the market. The first day the Classic Cars Pop Up Store was open, thirteen cars were already sold.

From project to perfect

The range varies from current to extremely exotic and from 'challenging project' to 'almost perfect'. 'Challenging' is the situation where someone finds a piece of a chimney and then builds a castle around it. It may be worth it. But requires a lot of work. And perfection depends on a price plus the expectation that the classic in question will be cherished rather than driven.

In the space in between there is a range of classics in Druten that you can simply enjoy and ride. Including a Zastava evolved into Abarth. To classics whose pleasure proceeds are considerably higher than the current bank interest. Add to this the fact that 'depreciation' of good, well-kept classics has been an unknown phenomenon for years. But be cautious with the idea that a purchased classic naturally goes up in value every year. Classic cars are just great fun.

The offer on that market has never been so beautiful. And if you want to orient yourself outside the digital world, the collection in Druten of such 300 copies is a great opportunity to do so. And if you have always wanted to have a Wlost? it is also in Druten. "Price on request'.

Classic Cars Pop Up Store on the Meubelstraat 1 in Druten starts on 31 in March 2019 and closes its doors on 28 April 2019. The opening times are on the site and our events calendar

* Access to the collection on the first floor is not free

    • I have heard it said, "At the Capital Pond with Goldfish". The property belongs to someone with a lot of euros. Ground floor has apparently just been alive for ten years. Pawnbroker has a collection of classics on the first floor that will make you fall unconscious
