Purchasing classics there

We do not want to know how many error messages would have been on the display of a modern engine.

But on the return trip to the 'Oale Groond', the Achterhoek owner of a Velocette noticed that his engine had lost its 'bite' before he boarded the ferry to Hoek van Holland.

The journey from west to east was made with increasing care and caution. The engine stalled permanently on the garage path in front of the house.

Now we are four months later and the owner had time to work on his steed. The cause of the lack of puff was quickly clear: the piston was cracked. Already 20D km after assembly. Possibly too tight a fit of the piston pin was the reason for the break.

But that did not stop the Velocette from bringing its owner home.
