Corvettes disappeared in sinkhole!

sinkhole corvette museumIt rarely or never occurs in Europe, perhaps later in Groningen. But still ... In the US from A it happens more often. : a sinkhole, a sudden hole in the ground. This week a huge sinkhole was created in the middle of the Skydome of the National Corvette Museum in Bowling Green in Kentucky, USA. And eight Vettes disappeared in it.

The sinkhole XXL had a diameter of more than twelve meters and was about ten meters deep. A black Corvette from 1962 disappeared, a PPG Pace Car from 1984, the millionth Corvette from 1992, a red 40th Anniversary, a ZR-1 Spyder from 1993, the Mallett Hammer Z06 from 2001, the 1.5 millionth Corvette from 2009 and the ZR1 "Blue Devil" from 2009. How the cars survived the dive is not yet clear. And the state of the building is being investigated.
