Lost classics: The FSO Polonez

You hardly saw them in 1982. And now no more. The FSO 125 P 1500s that were once sold apparently disappeared in the mists of time. The Polish license FIATS. In 1978, Polski FIAT (Polonez) presented a new design developed in-house and signed by Guigiaro.

When an average Polish employee earned 4400 zloty a month, the FSO had to pay 183000 zloty in his home country. In Poland, the FSO was staus for the happy few.

And at least one of the reasons that we see so few is that the then importer, Binckhorst Auto & Motor Import BV, received so little.

And FSO of course stands for Fabryka Samochodov Osobowych
