The disc brake was developed in Great Britain
Today is the simplest car, yes even moped cars, equipped with disc brakes ... The development of the disc brake has taken place in Great Britain.

The first success was achieved in 1953. With the Jaguar XKC in the 24 Hours of Le Mans. The first car manufacturers that applied disc brakes to mass-produced cars were Citroën (the DS) and Triumph on the TR3A. In 1954, Austin-Healey was the first to deliver disc brakes on the 100S on a series-produced sports car.
