Purchasing classics there

Ramon Bourguignon is a passionate collector of classic cars equipped for sporty drivers. He enjoys the great power, the technique and a power source with a lot of temperamental horsepower. There is only one limitation for him, there must be 4 rings on all his classic cars. There are also two copies of the DKW Monza in restoration.

By: Dirk de Jong

His goal is to create a 'museum' in his showroom, where the sporting development of Audi is central when it comes to the most exclusive models. To give an example, in addition to his collection, he has an Audi Sport quattro of which only about 200 have been built. The true connoisseur knows that this is a shortened model where the 'lead through technology' is visible.

But what is also important is that Ramon reflects on the past of DKW which is actually the prenatal phase of Audi. He wants to complete that statue in his 'museum' and therefore has two DKW Monza's under restoration at Heidstra in Damwoude. Perhaps less known to the general public and therefore no big sales records in the 50s, but many world records for the DKW's Monza with a 3-cylinder two-stroke engine. DKW owes the name Monza to the world-famous Italian circuit.

Also interesting:

Ramon has been opting for Heidstra car damage in Damwoude for more than 8 years because this company can keep up with new developments, especially when it comes to classics. They work with new techniques and repair methods that are certainly complex with classics and vintage cars and require maximum attention. Everything is done in-house, there is its own blasting department and even the individual parts can be blasted with glass bead. For example, by mechanically polishing aluminum parts, the company finds a good connection with the damage and restoration market.

The photo shows that the timeless, elegant and sporty DKWs made of fiber glass have not yet been finished. The strong bond between Ramon Bourguignon and Jan Jaap Heidstra ensures that all collected special Audis and the 2 beautiful DKWs are returned to new condition, or rather: Museum condition.
