A (very chic) book!
A new book by Paul. So that is Paul Weekers. A bon vivant, a traveler on his 45-year-old Moto Guzzi. A designer, a photographer… Paul doesn’t ride a motorcycle. Because that’s a lifestyle thing. Paul *is* a motorcyclist, and that is a lifestyle thing.
In principle, he travels alone, and he does so on his Guzzi 'Mofette'. He usually does so alone. For as a solo traveler, you remain open to new contacts, uninhibited. New – sometimes highly unexpected – experiences. After all, a loner on an old motorcycle? That sparks curiosity, whereas a group of motorcyclists is more often than not simply seen as a sort of scary. And new contacts and experiences? He has an abundance of those. And he writes about them in a captivating way. He proves this again with his second book, 'Avontuur begint om de Hoek'.
Traveling is discovering, feeling, and experiencing. It is not just the destinations that count, but above all the stories you collect along the way. 'Paul Haal Verhaal – Part 2, Adventure Begins Around the Corner' – offers exactly that: unique travel stories, written like a diary, in which adventure, wonder, and personal experiences come together. Including a whole host of beautiful photos.
Actually, the book could very well be called “Zen and the Art of Motorcycle Maintenance.” That is essentially what it is more about than that book with that name. That book that every motorcyclist knew, but that no one ever finished, because it was all deeply philosophical and a father-and-son nonsense.
Paul Weekers' observations are often more than superficial, but the conclusions drawn from them are mild and clear.
His first book, 'Paul haal verhaal', is sold out. Part 2 was festively presented in Den Bosch last weekend. Avontuur begind om de Hoek is being released in a numbered edition of 500 copies.
I once published “Men. Motorcycles and (some) girls” myself. That is sold out too. And the final text is lost, misplaced and gone. And that second edition? I'm sure it will happen eventually.
But it was still a working text. And everyone who orders Paul's book can order Mannen Motoren en (wat) meisjes on a USB stick along with it. Because the text of that pocket edition has been adopted by Paul. Because although we differ in age, the uninhibited passion for motorcycling binds us.

Looks like an interesting book to me, I might order it.
I have already received your book, Dolf, digitally, but I would prefer to read it on paper. Should you ever publish a second edition, I would be very interested. But please don't let that stop you from simply writing a new book; I quite like your humor and outlook on the world.
