Owners of a petrol timer who make use of the transitional arrangement may still go public in January, February and December. The Ministry of Finance has approved the extension of the Events Regulation. Petrol vehicles that have been admitted for the first time between 1975 and 1 January 1988 (from the upcoming turn of the year between 1 January 1976 and 1 January 1988) can now be taken on public roads for a maximum of 2 days during winter control.

The limitation continues to apply if the vehicle changes ownership. The vehicle in question does not have to be suspended either. Incidentally, it was already the case that the vehicle for the MOT inspection during the winter arrangement could already be used for a day to drive to and from the inspection station. That "test drive" may also be made now, without affecting the two days allowed. When participating in an event in the winter arrangement and / or having the vehicle inspected, the minimum liability must be insured.

Also expansion for suspended vehicles
Incidentally, the existing regulation for suspended vehicles of 15 years and older was also expanded. According to the published announcement, owners / holders may use the public road for a maximum of 8 calendar days per year, spread over a maximum of four "special occasions / events" without canceling the suspension. The number of driving days was previously six.

The organizer reports the event to the tax authorities, the participant passes the license plate on to the organization
For both categories of vehicles within the event scheme, the event must be reported to the Tax Authorities by the organizer. That must have happened two months in advance. The holder / owner of the vehicle must inform the organizer of the event in advance. He / she in turn passes on a list of license plates to the Tax Authorities.

Proof
The participants do not need to have proof in the motor vehicle during the event. The participants keep a record of how often they have already registered for an event in the calendar year and for how many days.

Additional tax
If the conditions are not met, for example because the road is nevertheless used, while the inspector has not designated the occasion as a special occasion, or because the maximum number of occasions or days for the motor vehicle has been exceeded, the insufficient tax paid.

Diesel and LPG
Vehicles with an age between 15 years and 40 years that run on diesel and LPG are not eligible for the adjusted winter scheme. They do fall under the "older than 15 year scheme", which is now extended by two calendar days per year. This also applies to all vehicles with an age of 40 years or older.
