Purchasing classics there

The prestigious Salon Rétromobile in Paris has been in existence for forty years. This year too, the Paris Expo Porte de Versailles houses an impressive collection of classic vehicles. They give a wink to the origination year 1976. Furthermore, many themes are brought together by a large diversity of participants and clubs.

Icons from an impressive past
Mercedes Benz Classic is one of the organizations that Rétromobile will liven up. In the French capital, it presents true icons from an impressive past. The luxury 300 Sc from 1956 (only built 53 times), the priceless 280 SE 3.5 Convertible (W112) from 1969, the 300 SL Roadster from 1959 and the almost inevitable but beautiful Pagoda - an 280 SL from 1968 represent historic elegance and dignity of the brand in full glory. The heritage is complemented by the new S-Class Cabriolet - after 45 year the successor to the 280 SE 3.5 Cabriolet and the new SL.

Retromobile has been in existence for forty years
There is much more to see during the event, which celebrates its 1976th anniversary this year. Diversity has been a great asset since Retromobile started in 1976 and has grown into an important event on the international classic calendar. In the context of the fortieth anniversary, the organizers give a nod to the year of its creation. An exhibition is being organized in Paris with a number of cars that saw the light of day in 123 or received their baptism of fire on the French market. The Mercedes-Benz W14, the Renault 6, the BMW XNUMX series, the Alfa Romeo Alfasud Sprint and the Alpine A310 V6 are a few of those jubilees. Various exhibitions about brands or historical pre-war transport types will also play a role. In addition to Mercedes-Benz, brands such as Bugatti, Maserati, Aston Martin and Jaguar Landrover also make an appearance in Paris, where attention is also traditionally paid to the national heritage. Special Peugeot creations form a theme and traditionally there is also an important role for the other French brands. Also striking is the exhibition about Lartigue, the photographer who captured his passion for competition cars with an impressive series. Striking: the Saumur Museum is also present. It introduces the public to historical tanks from its collection.

Exclusivity and simplicity
Furthermore, the famous classic guru Lukas Hüni AG from Zurich is once again taking beautiful cars - rather, automobiles - to Paris. The “Flying Dentist Jaguar” made famous by Steve Mc Queen, an Aston Martin DB 3 S from 1955 and - to return to Stuttgarter circles - a Mercedes Benz 680 S Saoutchik with Ferdinand Porsche chassis and a supercharged 7 liter of power be shown to the public. Futuristic vehicles from the past and record vehicles from the museum of Beaulieu can also be seen, while the basis of French company transport through the order version of the Citroën 2CV gives the visitor a diversionary maneuver towards automotive simplicity that is refreshing in relation to the exotic offer.

450 participants, one hundred clubs, 500 classic vehicles
The organizers expect to welcome approximately 450 participants and more than 100 clubs, which will represent various automotive layers. In total, 500 classic vehicles - commercial or otherwise - will be accommodated within Paris Expo Port de Versailles. Car enthusiasts can also go to Paris. Auctions will also be organized during Retromobile, where top pieces such as a Mercedes Benz 300 SL, a few historic Ferraris and a Porsche 550 Spyder will go under the hammer.

The Salon Rétromobile takes place from 3 to 7 February 2016. You will find more information about the exhibition offer, admission prices, opening times and activities here.
