Since 2008, Classic Automobile Travel has been organizing beautiful and colorful international tours for owners of a classic vehicle of 25 years and older. The organizers have already provided memorable trips, such as Le Jog, the Mille Miglia, the Targa Florio, the Circuit of Ireland and Andalucia Clasico. Another wonderful tour is scheduled for June 2022: the Far North Classic.
The Far North Classic is derived from The Far North Railway Line. This is Scotland's most northerly rail link connecting Inverness to the Northern Highlands. It is a promising journey that already promises a very nice experience. Classic Automobile Travel has put together an impressive route that leads along and through the most beautiful places in Scotland. In addition, an important part of the route consists of beautiful coastal roads, both on the west side of Scotland and on the east side. The route has been carefully mapped out and will lead in XNUMX days mainly on the leafy and idyllic Scottish back roads.
Beautiful routes, beautiful crossing
The departure is scheduled for June 3, 2022 from Ijmuiden. From there you will sail to Newcastle. From there an impressive sixteen day journey begins. The countryside, the beautiful coast and the Scottish Highlands are a picturesque part of the trip. Attractions such as the Galloway Forest Park, Loch Lomond National Park, the famous North Coast 500 route and Edinburgh Castle are included in the trip. During the Far North Classic you will also make a beautiful crossing to the Orkney Islands, where an overnight stay is also planned.
Rest days and own time
The organization has also taken a number of rest days. Then, for example, it is possible to visit the Kintyre and possibly Skye peninsulas, ride the Jacobite Train from Fort William to Mallaig (vice versa), or climb the UK's highest mountain, Ben Nevis. And near Inverness, where you will stay for two nights, you can choose to ride the Whiskey Trail. As you can see, the trip offers plenty of opportunities to discover the many beautiful Scottish places at your own discretion and to take a drive on your own.
Technical Support
A specialized technical team will accompany you during the trip. This way you are assured of optimal support. Furthermore, a technical inspection of the vehicle takes place prior to the trip. The participating vehicles must be at least 25 years old. Overnight stays are based on accommodation and breakfast, and six joint dinners are also planned. On June 18, 2022 you will drive the last leg of the Far North Classic 2022. After this you will depart from Newcastle by night boat back to IJmuiden.
