Purchasing classics there

An adventure car intended for dynamic people who dare to enjoy life. The Fiat Barchetta has since been given the honorary title 'youngtimer' and Fiat itself writes that its original style in the best Italian design tradition evokes memories of the unforgettable slender two-seaters from the 50s.

By: Dirk de Jong

This type of open-body sports car was affectionately called “barchetta” by the Italians, or “little boat”. Tours are only made in the North East Friesland region, and in this case along the water.

Destination?

Jan: “Driving in the convertible with my wife Margriet is a wonderful experience every time. We leave spontaneously, with no goal in mind. (If you don't know where you want to go, it doesn't matter where you end up.) When we park, we look at the Fiat again with admiration. A tasteful interior, the color scheme, the deep blue color in combination with the linen roof is astonishingly beautiful.

Affordable pleasant open driving

Let's take another look at what the Italians say about the Barchetta: The compact body exudes sophistication and originality because its styling is based on artisanal design art.

Jealous looks?

Jan: ”When we come together for an event, it doesn't matter to a youngtimer/classic/oldtimer enthusiast what they drive in, there are no ranks and positions, only the hobby counts. My affordable Fiat Barchetta remains a head turner, homeless pleasure, certainly not high value, but valuable. My experience this summer was that as soon as the sun shines, plenty of convertibles appear on the road, and in my opinion more than before. After every ride I tap the dashboard encouragingly, for me it's the art of enjoying it.”

  1. Have you ever heard that if you have the V6, maintenance is a crime.
That a block has to be removed from the supports for distribution maintenance etc

  2. A nice example of a nice car. Because of my love for Japanese perfection, I'll stick to my MX5, but I can certainly appreciate the Barchetta. And given the numbers that are still driving around, the quality is fine. The body quality is probably even better than the Mazda.
Wishing you many more pleasant kilometers.

  3. That knock on the dashboard…. I sometimes give my cars a loving pat on the side as if it were a horse. I'm glad I'm not the only one with such a deviation

  4. During the time I worked at the Eastern neighbors I came across a yellow Fiat Barchetta every day. You always ended up in the same place as me on the highway. The best man always thought it necessary to race on the unlimited highway there against my nice tickled (more than 170hp on the rollers) '86 Scorpio 2.9GL (manual gearbox)
It must have given him tobacco to be pulled out every time you accelerate. But no. Always smiling in his yellow Barchetta. I thought that was a really nice car. That beautiful design. I kind of regret that we never met, other than riding against each other.
