Formula 1 in Rome

Appraisals mobile
In 2012 the Italian capital will shake to its foundations for the next seven years if a Grand Prix for the Formula 1 is to be held there. The Italian businessman Maurizio Flammini, supported by, among others, the tourist industry of the Italian capital, made an effort to achieve this.

The highest Formula 1 boss Ecclestone has confirmed the race. Rome has another five-year option after that period. A beautiful trail will be set out in the city. It is expected that 100.000 spectators will be welcomed daily. Rome was once the scene of Grand Prix racing. For that we have to go back to 1925. That race was then won by Carlo Masetti. The Grand Prix at Monza will continue to exist and count towards the world championship
