Purchasing classics there

Lancia successfully made the Fulvia, but was a company that was busy with the technique and appearance in a typical Italian way. That gave the best results, but was the nightmare for every bookkeeper.

Lancia's were not poor cars

Lancia customers were good customers. Think of 'notables'. The Fulvia's were for sporting notables. Lancia was an expensive brand that exuded status. A Lancia driver was someone. Someone you said 'You' to with some awe. Lancia drivers went for Style and Status, until Lancia started smelling too much of Fiat.

But until that time the customer bought the cars to exchange them after a reasonable number of years after careful maintenance. If, as a garage mechanic, you are the boss in your own company and you are a fan of your brand, then it is obvious that you should keep a few very nice ones for 'later'.

This is also the case with this Fulvia

This Lancia Fulvia from the third series slept heated and dry for years. To be honest, the Lancia has had a regular tectyl / Dinitrol turn from an early age and he has never had to sleep outside or work hard. Although: a Lancia Fulvia Rallye 1300 / 3 from 1974 with an impressive towbar? How crazy can it get? On the other hand: a huge number of these beauties have died in the tough motorsport.

With a towbar?

The towbar under this Fulvia was once mounted at the request of the customer, and therefore remains in place. Out of respect for the past. For the rest, the car with the most beautiful patina, the vague Dinitrol foothills and its whole appearance is almost terrifyingly beautiful. These sharply angled, Zaccone Mina-designed V4s with a camshaft above each cylinder bank made history on the circuits and in the rally world because the tight 1.300-measuring power source apparently could endlessly be provided with more power. That V4 with a cylinder angle that was so tight that it only needed a cylinder head was a technical and aesthetic feat.

With the double set of carburetors on the block mounted diagonally under 45 ° in the front-mounted block, the bonnet could just as well have been made of Plexiglas. Beautiful! The first series of Fulvia's had Dunlop disc brakes, the second series from 1970, had larger Girling calipers and power brakes. The adjustment of the brake also changed the operation of the parking brake.

The Real Lancias ...

Real Lancia's from the time before Fiat took over are 'driver's cars' par excellence. Lancias are made for people who could afford the happiness of owning a Lancia. The availability and prices of parts are based on that. Therefore, never buy a promising project. That will cost too much.
