GoWest Oldtimertreffen Gangelt 2025: Discover classics during the holidays
The GoWest Oldtimertreffen in Gangelt, Germany, has been a popular event among classic car enthusiasts for years. On Saturday, August 30, 2025, the fifth edition took place at the picturesque Gangelter Kahnweiher, organized by Historische Fahrzeuge Gangelt eV. This year, the event attracted a record number of participants and visitors, including Arie-Jan and Bianca Vreeken. They were spending their holidays in South Limburg. Like many true classic car enthusiasts, they couldn't resist checking if there was a classic car event near their vacation destination. That's how they discovered the GoWest Oldtimertreffen in Gangelt. Naturally, they decided not to miss this event. What followed was an afternoon where they and the other visitors could express their love for classic cars, motorcycles, and unique vintage vans.
The GoWest Oldtimer Meeting—located not far from South Limburg—is known for its wide range of historic vehicles. Classic cars, motorcycles, and scooters were all on display. The 2025 edition was a resounding success. Participants came from the Netherlands, Germany, and other surrounding regions. As always, admission was free for both participants and visitors, ensuring an accessible experience.
Besides the vehicles themselves, the event also offered other attractions. There was the "Bierjeck," a local beer tent where visitors could relax and enjoy a drink in the convivial atmosphere of the event. Participants were treated to interviews during a parade in Gangelt. The event was relaxed and convivial, without frills, but with what truly matters: a love of all things classic. Arie-Jan and Bianca are happy to share their experiences with others and once again this year provided a wonderful photo report of what they saw in Gangelt. The photos give a good impression of the diversity of vehicles, the attention to detail of the participants, and the convivial atmosphere of the event. For those who were unable to attend, this impression offers a glimpse into what makes the event so special.
After the success of 2025, the organizers of the GoWest Oldtimertreffen are looking forward to the next edition. Although the date for 2026 hasn't yet been announced, interested parties can keep an eye on the official website of Historische Fahrzeuge Gangelt eV for updates. For Arie-Jan and Bianca, one thing is clear: no holiday will go by without exploring classic vehicles and events in the area.

In Bernkastel-Keus, near Bitburg, there's also a cool museum, though a bit too Germanic. Beautiful building in style, a nice tour, and a nice restaurant, but the only annoying Eastern Bloc barker/manager!
Nowadays, a Simca 1502 is rarer than a Ferrari or Bugatti
