Arnaud Monsma has started a new hobby that he calls "Networks in nostalgia". He has been struck by the detective virus and his search is for virtually disappeared automobile remains in old barns, in attics of retired entrepreneurs and collectors.
His experience already is that many special things are popping up, sometimes in original packaging that has been forgotten for more than 50 years. These old green plates, which were officially referred to as trade marks, are a good example. The green plates are actually a mini-garage insurance, in which a car from the liability insurance was insured. The light green plates often had the letters HA / HF and FH.
Even in the past, use was bound by rules, but it was taken less closely. Sometimes the use went further than it was related to the company. Due to the incorrect use and complaints that came, the rules were further tightened.
These license plates 26-77-HF are still from those days, and are now showing off in his display case in Dokkum. (Dirk de Jong)
