The Honda C110 and C114. Those were the Japanese motorcycles that, certainly in England, provided the bridgehead to Europe. They were intended as cheap transport for the masses, but did not have the sad shabby appearance and dated technology of that type of transport.
The Hondaatjes were cool, modern, reliable and fast. In the States they had already contributed to the image change of motorcyclists. From 'outlaw bikers' to 'You meet the nicest people on a Honda'.
The Hondaatjes were so good and so tough that they were usually driven through while they were actually dead. And the pressed steel frames could quite well rust. So there aren't that many left at all.
Fortunately struck AutoMotorKlassiek a Honda C110 and a C114 who wanted to pose for our camera. And with those photos we made the text.
Now in AMK number 11, the Honda C110 and C114.
