Honda's built-in brake discs: That seemed such a good idea.

But was not a success. Honda's attempt to unite the best of both worlds: The tight looks of a brake drum and the braking power of disc brakes was not a success.

And it's amazing how many of those things you come across at motorcycle shops and trade shows.

In short: The braking power was disappointing, the brakes became much too hot due to lack of air cooling and construction details, the discs curved, the brake pads tended to keep on running.

Even the claimed better effect in the rain was not realized. And it was a disaster to have to work on it. And if the ventilation holes were silted up, the event would rust from the inside.

Honda's built-in brake discs were a drama, but the idea was good and the looks were okay ...
