The Imperial Crown. Chrysler's top class and answer to Cadillac and Lincoln. And that Imperial had to be made into an independent sub-brand? Great marketing right?

The 1963'er Imperial Crown that is in AMK number 10, in the October issue, is the model from the time that the designers Exner and Engel were at the end and at the start of their career at Chrysler respectively. This car is therefore an impressive mix of the design styles of the mentioned men.

The Imperial is huge and lavish in everything. It is almost six meters long and 207 cm wide.

With that width, it is absolutely incompatible.

But the Imperial Crown also had design details of un-American refinement such as its torsion bar for suspension.

Knowing more? Got greedy?
