Indian (Big Chief) 0.1
Indian made the better motorcycles, but was the arch rival of Harley. The latter had the better marketers and a street fighting mentality.
The brand had to bury the hatchet and Harley made history by trial and error.
In the meantime, the brand has been reborn under the Polaris flag, grown as a snowmobile manufacturer and yet another USA V twin, the Victory.
The rebirth is of course just marketing based. In the meantime Harley has become so mainstream that apparently a customer group was seen who wanted something different than a Harley.
And if you, as a major entrepreneur, can buy the name and trademark rights?
Toppie right?
The Indian Chief from 1946 in AMK number 8, the full summer number, is an Indian of the purest (fire) water.
The proof that not everything was better in the past,
but more authentic, fairer, however, and clearer.
The Indian Chief is a heart-boggling tough guy. More about this number via amklassiek.nl/magazine/deze-maand/auto-motor-klassiek-augustus-2016/
