From 11 to 14 January 2018, Maastricht will be dominated by the 25th edition of InterClassics Maastricht. The anniversary edition of the old-timer exhibition will be synonymous with the highlights of the past 25 year. Based on the 18 themes that have been conducted over the years, a unique collection of 18 masterpieces will be presented. The most beautiful and exclusive classic cars are present. What those are is not yet known. Of course, there is also a wide stage on everything related to classic cars. The range extends from parts to automobilia.
History
In 1994 the Oldtimerclub Gronsveld organized the first edition of InterClassics in one of the halls of MECC Maastricht. The fair has been organized by MECC Maastricht since 1996. Born as InterClassics, the fair has undergone a number of name changes over the years. For example, in 2003 the name was changed to 'InterClassics & TopMobiel' and due to the extension of the fair to its southern neighbors, InterClassics Brussels, the name was renamed 'InterClassics Maastricht' in 2015.
History with beautiful themes
The themes that are central during the exhibition, which are now known and trusted by the public, have not always been a fixed part. The first theme was introduced in 2003 and 18 themes have now been reviewed. There were even three central themes in 2014. Then were Maserati 100 years, Pre War race legends en Mustang big screen heroes the crowd pullers. Ferrari is the only brand that was presented twice, in 2008 '60 year Ferrari' and during the last edition Ferrari was again in the spotlight and 25 masterpieces from the history of 70 year Ferrari were shown.
Anniversary edition
In the past quarter of a century, the exhibition has welcomed no less than 400.000 visitors. The number of visitors experienced good growth. Several thousand visitors came to take a look at the first edition of 1994. 30.000 visitors are expected for the coming edition. “That forms a solid basis for the future. Since 2015, the team of InterClassics has realized expansion with the successful sister 'InterClassics Brussels'. However, the ambition regarding expansion is not yet met. We hope to be able to announce new initiatives in the near future, "said Erik Panis, the director of InterClassics.
