Purchasing classics there

Gordini_RHDQuite a few classic lovers are sitting near the end of their working life or are already enjoying the lack of time that no longer requires them to work.

Classic lover X was not sad when he heard that he could stop it a little earlier. Thirty years with the same employer. Well, the company was sold a few times at that time and the management had gotten some predators ... But still. X had always worked with soul and bliss for it and saw this opportunity unprejudiced as a token of appreciation for his services and and opportunity for the youth.

They spoke, consulted and X was presented with a stack of papers that he had to sign for a while.

When he was just getting used to his freedom, he received a letter from his former employer. It stated that he, as stated in his retirement contract and what he had signed for ...

He had to be available in an emergency when a personnel problem arose elsewhere in the country. Well: in H ,. Such a crisis had occurred nearly forty miles from his hometown. If he would only show up the next day.

Totally in shock, X contacted his former employer. He said that in the tumult of saying goodbye it might not have become completely clear, but that he really agreed with that option. And that that would become a daily 140 km commute? The - apparently not so - ex employer could not do anything about that.

If X wanted to get out of his obligations, that wasn't a problem at all. It would only cost him his "golden handshake," of what apparently his severance pay was.

X has stopped working. That cost him money. He has the time now. But the restoration of his classic will take a little longer.

He is not bitter. He is a bit sad. He now realizes that he has just sacrificed a vigorous management strategy, a preconceived plan to get rid of older staff at the lowest possible cost. X is now 62. And he must, strictly controlled by the UWV, apply for jobs, retrain and do things he had never dreamed of. And what did he dream of? The restoration of his classic? We already said that… it doesn't happen.

  1. Despite all the jubilation of human resources, it generally doesn't get any better, but according to the controversial municipality (politics, economists, the EU, administration) it is good for all of us.
